Chocolate Egg Topiary With Krafty Kat!
Hey there!
I am Kathie and I blog over at Krafty Kat. My blog is all about crafts and decor while spending as little as possible. Yes, I am CHEAP! With 5 kids, you have to be! Heidi has been so kind to let me show you how to make this faux chocolate egg topiary tree! She is awesome!
So, the supplies you will need are: plastic eggs (I used the smaller ones- from Hobby Lobby), styrofoam cone form, floral moss, brown and cream craft paint, black and white fabric paint, gloss acrylic sealer, hot glue gun.
Paint all of the eggs with the brown and cream craft paint.
Then, spray a clear gloss sealer to give them a shine…just like real chocolate! When it dries, drizzle some black and white fabric paint over some of them to make them look like truffles.
Then, just start hotgluing them to the cone form. Add moss to the spaces in between the eggs to cover the cone.
Cover the entire cone. I placed mine on top of a candleholder. You could put it in a pot or on a pedestal or leave it as is. Make a pair for your mantel. Just don’t be surprised when you start craving chocolate!
Isn’t that fabulous? The best part is that it was so cheap to make. I already had everything on hand except the eggs, the moss, and the cone form. I spent about $5 to make this vs. spending way more to buy something similar in a store.
