Easy Ruffle Wreath

Hey there Honey Bear Lane followers.
I am really excited to be here today.
I was really touched by the post Heidi wrote about
needing help and feeling overwhelmed.
I know we have all been there but not all of us can ask for help.
I jumped at the opportunity to help a friend out.
Let me tell you a little about me…
I am Chrissy from { Boerman Ramblings }
I am a stay at home mom to 3 little ones….ages 10, 5, and 2!

Today I want to show you simple little wreath I whipped up last night.
Supplies needed:
fabric ( I used upholstery fabric my husband got for free) you could use burlap, or old sheets, even fabric scraps
scissors
wreath – can be foam, wood, straw -( I found mine at a thrift store for $1.00)
embellishments – fake flowers, book pages, yarn
hot glue gun
Cut your fabric into 1 1/2 to 2 inch strips. I started with about 12 (but i am also using a large bolt, adjust based on fabric and wreath size.
using a generous amount of hot glue start wrapping your wreath with the strips.
gluing down the ends and over lapping to prevent unraveling.
I did add a little glue here and there for some extra security.
wrap the entire wreath making sure to end with the last strip in the back!
I wanted to add a little bit of “girl” to this wreath
next I cut ruffled the left over 5 strips I had left.
Using a basting stitch, loosely ruffle each strip.
then pulling one thread gather to desired ruffleness (is that even a word)
gluing the end of one ruffle to the back of your wreath start wrapping with your ruffles. I again added glue dots here and there to secure the ruffles…
I did not want to make this wreath too frilly so I chose to only wrap half of the wreath with ruffles
You could be finished here…
I chose to add some embellishments that match my decor.

I have a lot of left over beans and wanted to use them on my wreath.
I deconstructed a floral stem from hobby lobby
glued the flowers to my wreath
then I used the beans as centers for my flowers…
