Fudge Brownie Torte with Strawberries

Sharing is caring!

I discovered this recipe several years ago and found it surprisingly delicious.  I know–surprisingly?  It’s a fudge brownie torte!  But when you see/eat the actual brownie torte by itself, it’s pretty lackluster.  But paired with the chocolate topping and strawberries–a match made in heaven!  This is a great dessert to make for your Valentine’s Day dinner at home, if that’s what you’re doing this year.

Ingredients
  • ¾ C. Butter
  • ¾ C. Corn Syrup
  • 1½ Cups chocolate chips
  • ¾ Cup white sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1½ Tsp vanilla
  • 1¼ Cup flour
Instructions
  1. Melt butter and corn syrup in a saucepan and mix in chocolate chips, stirring until smooth.
  2. In a large bowl, combine chocolate mixture with sugar, eggs, vanilla, and flour. Mix until smooth.
  3. Line a large cookie pan (the kind with walls) with parchment paper and pour the batter into the pan. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

When your brownie torte has baked and fully cooled, use a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out your servings. Top with your favorite chocolate syrup/hot fudge, or follow this recipe for  Chocolate Glaze.

Cut up several cups of strawberries and serve with the torte.  You might be tempted to get the ice cream or whipped cream to go with it but hold off until you try it with just the glaze and strawberries…you might be surprised!
