Crafting My Space: Before & After

Sharing is caring!

If you read my latest (*ahem*) interview, you might have read that my craft room is actually a shared space between my dining room and my crafts. Before I really got into my Etsy business, I didn’t use this space every day (as I do now) so the lack of organization didn’t bother me that much. But one day, as the quilt batting, fabric, thread spools, ribbon, what-have-you, creeped up upon me, threatening to drown me, I screamed in my head and said, also in my head, “I can’t take it anymore!” So I cleaned it all up and dragged the fam to Ikea where we came back with the answer to my problems.
Before: Note all the stuff on the floor and crammed in that strange short bookcase.

After: While it’s still not completely done, it is WAAAAY better than before. We still need to get two more black bins for the bottom row. Look at that, I even got a cushion for the chair (it’s uncomfortable to sit a pregnant tush on a hard chair for hours at a time.) I want to figure out a better system for hanging up the clothes I sew–right now they are just hanging on push pins in the wall…any suggestions? Also I need to get a cute way to organize my ribbon. I would like to create a rack of some sort.

What do you think? I love your feedback.

P.S. Did I mention that I only have one month left until my due date? Yay!

How am I just finding out that you are pregnant?! Huge Congrats to you–you look fantastic, BTW. Your space redo looks great. Love that IKEA piece. Doesn't it feel great to have a nice, neat space? How about some coat hooks screwed into the wall? If you need something less permanent, I love the removable sticky hooks that 3-m makes–use those buggers all over my house.
