Toddler Issue

Sharing is caring!

***Let me preface this post by saying that I love my son. Very, very much. I would hug him all day long if he’d let me. But all you mothers out there KNOW that your kids can drive you absolutely crazy at times.***

I have this problem…or rather, my son has this problem. He LOVES to play with liquids, especially water. This is pretty normal for a kid, but the biggest pain to me is that he loves to pour his water/juice out of his sippy cups, no matter how many times I have told him to not do that, sent him to timeout, punished him, etc. It’s like his vice! Water isn’t quite as bad but today (during a weak moment when he was driving me crazy) I gave him some dark colored juice. Several minutes later, I found him making fun little juice designs on my white table runner. Arg!! I just don’t know how to cure him of this bad habit. Any ideas?

And while you’re helping solve my water/juice problem, please come up with a solution for his general whinyness, bad listening, short naps…..

  1. I would love ideas on this too. Charlie has the exact same problem -my solution was to buy new sippy cups that are completely leak proof. No more problem, but also of course the cups are meant for much younger babies…

  2. My youngest has just discovered that he can suck up liquid in his straw, take the straw out of the cup and then shoot the juice across the room. Lovely.

You have some adorable projects on your blog! I love the pirate. I need something girly yet piratey for me, to fit in with all my boys!

I have no advice, and my 4 year old still has the same behavioral issues. If you come up with a solution, let me know!
