Rendi Custom Frames Giveaway!

Sharing is caring!

This giveaway is sponsored by a company that I hadn’t heard of before, but once I learned more about it, I thought it was awesome!
Rendi sells custom wood frames and signs.  The products are so cool and totally custom. I love the idea of framing a special picture and putting personal sayings and names on it that your children and friends can remember forever!
Jessica is a representative of Rendi, and I really wanted to know more about her and Rendi…

HBL:  How did you first find out about Rendi?
R:  I subscribe to an inspirational email from this awesome community of women called The Brave Girls Club.  Their Daily Truth email is one of those special things that speaks right to my heart, in exactly the way I need it nearly every time I read it!  A few times a year they hold Brave Girls Camp, and several of my stamping friends have been to camp and say it is a life changing event.  I am looking forward to going sometime soon!

The women who started The Brave Girls Club  are sisters, and one of them is Melody Ross, a pretty well known artist, especially in the scrapbooking/stamping world.  Wow, this is a longer story than I realized!!  Well, I follow Melody Ross’s blog, and in September, she kept mentioning this company that she was doing design work for, called Rendi.  I decided to follow her link, which led me to Rendi’s blog at the time, because the company itself hadn’t even launched.  So, long story short–this amazing woman named Melody Ross (who is only a virtual friend at this point–I actually LOVE this about the internet!!–I’ve “met” so many amazing women online!) brought Rendi into my world, and I’m so grateful to her for it!

g

HBL:  Why did you decide to get involved?

R:  I’m staying home from my teaching job this year to be with my three year old son and my six month old daughter.  I love my children–they are wonderful!!  But I really wanted to find a way to get out of the house a bit and spend time with other women, to express my creativity, and possibly to earn some money.

When I saw the care that was going into this company, and the inspiration and dedication of the people involved at every level, as well as the opportunity to be a part of something from the very beginning, I had to jump on it!

The founder/president of Rendi, Annie Danielson is so passionate about empowering women. The vision she has for Rendi is so exciting that you just can’t help but get wrapped up in it! Right now I am the only Rendi stylist in Ohio, though I plan to change that very soon!  I think there are less than 150 of us across the country right now, so the opportunity for sales and team building are huge!!

d

HBL:  What is your favorite thing about it?

R:  Do I really have to pick just one thing?  I’m not sure I can!  I’ll try to keep it short. I love that anyone can get online and in five minutes or so (it can be more if you feel like playing around with our cool customization website!) can create a personalized gift for someone special.

I love the technology aspect too–that you create your gifts online, that I can have customers across the country, but that I can also hold home parties where the guests are encouraged to bring their laptops, and they gather around each other’s computers, helping each other design their gifts, sharing ideas for words or quotes to use, and getting inspired by each other.

I love that Rendi is socially responsible–all products are made in the USA, with planet friendly materials, and a portion of each purchase goes to charity.

But what I love MOST is that words are the inspiration behind Rendi.  Words are so powerful–they can put a smile on someone’s face, bring tears to your eyes, lift someone up, encourage someone, make a difference in someone’s life.

HBL:  How do you balance family time and work?

R:  It is tricky right now, because there is so much I am doing to get this business launched.  I try to work only during my childrens’ naptimes and in the evening.  When I grow my business more, I plan to have them go to a babysitter one day a week so I can be really focused on business during that day.

I’m lucky to have a very supportive husband who loves that I have something I’m passionate about (in addition to him and our kids) so he is more than happy to be a single parent when I need some time to go do a party or a show.

b

HBL:  What are your hopes for the future of your work?

R:  My ultimate goal is to build my business to the point where I can continue to stay home with my children, instead of returning to my teaching job.  I’d love to share the awesome feeling of giving gifts from the heart with as many people as I can.

Nowadays, so many people rely on last minute gift-cards, which to me really takes the pleasure out of gift giving.  I want people to know that they can give a meaningful, heartfelt gift just as easily as they can buy a giftcard.   I also want to connect with more amazing women through Rendi, and help them to create their businesses too!

(This is a piece she created just for her daughter so she can read these words of affirmation everyday.  So sweet!)
