And we’re having a…

Sharing is caring!

GIRL.  Can you believe it?  I can’t believe it.  I’m seriously still in shock (although that could just be from the horrific shopping trip I made yesterday with my two boys.)  But really, the days leading up to the big revelation I was trying to picture me in the doctor’s office having the sonographer tell me that it is another boy.  I thought of a name I actually liked.  But yesterday morning I felt like the funeral march should be playing in the hours leading up to the appointment.  A bit dramatic, I know.  It’s not like having another boy would be the end of the world.

But I just knew it was a girl.

My husband and I are so excited about this.  A daughter!  Everyone immediately said “You should go shopping!” and I thought, “Yes I will!” but what they should have said is “You should have someone babysit your two holy terrors and go shopping by yourself!”  because that would have worked much better.

And now for the winners (because out of the 117 votes, 103 of you voted for GIRL!)

Woohoo!!!! So excited your having a girl and I won the gift card!!! Congrats! This is a great way to start my wed! Only 2 1/2 more weeks and I can find out if I’m having a girl… Maybe you will rub off on me!

  3. Congratulations! Girls are soooo fun, I love having my daughter, and girl stuff is so fun to make/buy!

  4. Oh congratulations! Having a girl is so fun! Right now mine is sitting with her Tinkerbell dress up dress on over her pjs while watching Beauty and the Beast. 🙂

  5. Yay– Congrats! Girls really are so much fun. Ok, truth be told, I’m really nervous for the preteen years… but for now, every day with my little 15 month old is filled with laughter, snuggles, kisses, and dancing. Can’t beat that!

  6. Congrats!!! I hope you’re doing well and enjoy your time as a GIRL’s mom 😀 😀 😀

Heidi, that is fantastic! I am so happy for you! We love our little girl so much. She is so sweet and happy. I hope yours will be too! And we all know she will definitely be dressed well!

  8. Congrats Heidi! I’m so excited for you! There’s nothing better than going shopping for a little girl (maybe without the boys). Love ya!

  9. Congrats!! So exciting! However, I just have to warn you, one of my boys was a ‘girl’ for a month and the same thing happened to my brother and sister-in-law. The doctor was super confident, they bought clothes and all the crib bedding but at the next appointment, ‘she’ was really a boy! 🙂
I’m certainly not trying to be negative, I’m just saying maybe wait for a confirmation before buying everything. 😉

Yay for a girl!! I’m hoping for a second girl (one of each right now), but I’m fairly sure it’s gonna be a boy. Oh well. My number one tip for a baby girl is to start doing her hair right away so she’s used to it. If you want bows in her hair, start ASAP so she doesn’t notice them to take them out when she can. Get her used to you tugging and pulling at her hair as you do ponytails. Makes it a bit easier. And if that fails, putting on a movie so she’ll sit still helps, too. 🙂

  11. Congrats on having a girl!!! I was in your same boat years ago. I had 2 boys..ages 4 and 2 when I became pregnant. It was a total surprise! And I thought…gosh, what IF i have another boy? I was so afraid of this because my 2 were a handful! I was ecstatic when they told me it was a girl! I went shopping and bought a pink, soft blankey! 🙂
    Congrats again….:)

  12. All I have are girls. 3 of them to be exact and in one month we will find out what we are having this time around. My girls love everything from Tinkerbell to toy tools. There will probably be more emotional issues with a little girl than the bumps and bruises.

  13. A girl! Congratulations!!!!!

  14. Congratulations! I had a boy and then a girl and I just LOVE having a little girl! I promise they are much sweeter and quieter and are fabulous shoppers!

  15. A Girl! 🙂 I am so excited for you! My sweet girl is about to turn one in 1 1/2 weeks and I have loved every minute of it!! She’s getting into play food, loves clothes and shoes, and making things for her (sewing clothes, toys, dolls, felt food, etc) is so much fun!

  16. Congratulations! I have two little boys also, and while I would be thrilled with a third boy, there would just be something extra special about having a little girl. Excited for you 🙂

  17. How wonderful! Congratulations to you and your family 🙂 A baby girl, what a precious blessing!!! She’ll be one tough cookie with her two older brothers that’s for sure! I loved having an older brother–so excited for her!! 🙂 Congrats again, enjoy sharing your news with all!

YES! I was right! And let me tell you something, baby girls ARE. The. Swetest. Thing. EVER!!!!!

I have two girls, 20 months apart, and you’ll be excited how easy they are to potty train, compared to boys. Also, get a little kitchen – there’s a fantastic one on amazon that is pink and looks just like the 700$ PBK one…my 2.5 yr old LOVES that thing….makes a great 2nd birthday gift and then have your family/friends get the goods to go in it – wood food, plush cakes, etc.

Girls are ALOT whinier than most of the boys I know (that must change around age 20…lol!) and do seem to require a bit more finesse in terms of setting rules out. My girls outsmart or find loop holes in rules that my friends boys just accept flat out.

    CONGRATULATIONS ON THE PINK!!!

  20. I was right and you got your wish as I did!!! Congrats to you Both and family!! Enjoy your precious Little Bundle of Joy!!! What I want to know is her Name??? Is there going to be a giveaway in that??? Just suggesting !!!

  21. Congrats on the girl! I agree with the ‘start the hair bows early’ sentiment. Also don’t go crazy buying dresses till she’s at least a toddler – I got so carried away and now all her super cute clothes have baby food stains on them lol. (or at least make her a nice big apron). How exciting!
