Have you seen Megamind?  This quote comes to mind:

“Here’s my day so far: went to jail, lost the girl of my dreams and got my butt kicked pretty good. Still, things could be a lot worse. Oh, that’s right… I’m falling to my death. Guess they can’t.”

Here’s my week so far:  Spent three hours dealing with health insurance issues that still aren’t resolved, dropped a thing of juice on my toe and broke it, spent the following morning at the Urgent Care and now I wear a big ol’ shoe on my foot to help my toe heal, got to take the glucose test at the OB-Gyn and get my blood drawn.

I am just falling apart, physically.  It’s hard enough to be pregnant, is it not?  Well I have had a cold for about a month and it’s gone from sore throat, to cough, to sinus infection.  Finally yesterday I got some antibiotics which seem to be helping.  But this cough!

I don’t know what’s worse, having a cough in the first trimester where you cough so hard you throw up (my first pregnancy), or having a cough in the 2/3rd trimester where you cough so hard that you pee your pants.

So giant belly–check.  Cough so hard I pee my pants–check.  Stuffy nose–check.  Broken toe–check.

But still, things could be a lot worse.  I’m not falling to my death, so that’s good.

How do you feel about these items?

The first one is a taggie lovey, with ribbons and minky on the back.  The second one is a quilted bib with minky on the back.  I’m trying out a few new products but I’d love your feedback.

it IS so hard to be pregnant. i hope your blood tests show great results….and I hope the antibiotics help (being sick while pregnant is awful). …but i would LOVE to have your problems…(this is only to perhaps help make your problems seem a little more bearable)….last friday, we lost our baby at 13 weeks…

i love the taggie lovie…i’m not sure how you would, but maybe making one corner crinkly (is that a word?)…would be a good idea…my kids always loved crinkly..and making one loop extra sturdy so that it could be attached to stuff would be a great idea, too

the bib is cute…especially with the bow…but i think i would leave the bow off (as cute as it is)…my kids were big spit-uppers and it would be yucky instantly…maybe two smaller bows at the bottom of the ties?…not sure how you would do it….but using your puffs to make a taggie cube?… just some thoughts.

  2. Oh, I’m so sorry you’re still sick. Those new pieces are adoable. I’m pretty sure I need to get them both for my new grand baby (except in pink, because it’s her first girl and she thinks everything has to be pink).

  3. OMG I love them both! Especially the colors! I hope you feel better. Being sick especially while pregnant is never fun 🙁

  4. I’m SO with you on the pregnancy thing. My first pregnancy was great. I had some mean morning sickness for seven months, but after that passed every day, I felt really good. NOT the case with my second. I was MISERABLE.

Oh, and you seriously want to get that cough under control before the baby comes. Trust me: coughing after delivering a baby is excruciating. I can’t even begin to describe how much.

I love, love, love the lovey. I think I’ll make one to match the puff quilt that I’m planning on making soon. The bib is cute, but I think it would be a bit cuter if it was smaller diamonds, like argyle, with smaller bows at the intersections. Or maybe if the fabric was switched? I love the quilting on it, though. I think it’s super cute!

Those are both gorgeous! But I think I favor the lovey more just because I hatted bibs with the twins.

As far as pregnancy and colds, it sucks no matter what stage you are in. Hope you heal up soon.

I just had my GTT last week too. Stupid thing makes me sick on it’s own..

  6. I always like seeing the pretty colour combinations you make the puff quilt in. I have thought about giving the pattern a try for awhile but am not much of a quilter so this would be a great trial sewing project for me!

  7. you can’t believe how much i love this color combo!!! that aqua is just PERFECT

Sorry you’ve had a rough go of it the past few days! At least you can entertain us with your story telling abilities. 🙂
Love the tag pillow and bib!! Way too cute!!

  9. I’m so sorry you’ve had a rough time!! I agree – being pregnant is enough!! I hope you feel better soon! 🙂

I LOVE both the items you’ve posted. The taggie is the cutest I’ve seen and that bib is adorable!! I will definitely keep them in mind for gifts!! Are you posting the items and the patterns or just the items? Either way – they’re awesome. 🙂

Lovely items – hope you are feeling better!

  11. Both are cute, although I’m not personally a fan of the bow on the bib. If you want to make your lovie crinkly, just put a square of plastic inside before you stuff and sew (baby wipes wrappers work great!)

  12. You poor thing!! Being pregnant is definitely tough enough! With my first, I was so sick at the end of my pregnancy and it was miserable! So I know that part of your pain! I love the lovey! My baby girl would love something like that right now!

  13. HannahBee says:

SOOO adorable!(the pillow and bib, not the nasty sickness and stuff)

  14. I hope things get better soon for you! The only worse than being pregnant, is being sick and pregnant! Love the new products. I agree with the first comment, the bow is cute, but would get dirty really easily.

  15. Love the tag blanket. The bow I would skip on the bib for the obvious reasons. Way cute though!

  16. Gotta say I love Megamind! and even though you’re sick you still have such a great sense of humor! I totally relate to the coughing. (maybe TMI, but you share… I share…) I love the bib!

  17. Love the taggie lovey!! I think it is adorable and would be an easy thing to take where ever for the kiddo. The bib is adorable! Oh my goodness, pregnancy is hard enough but throw on two kids and a broken toe and being sick and all of the other stuff and it makes it a lot harder. I hope your toe heels fast, and you feel better soon. I know how it feels to pee your pants from coughing during pregnancy….. NOT FUN!!
