Halloween Subway Art…with a twist

Sharing is caring!

This is embarrassing to admit.  Hi, my name is Heidi and I’ve never done subway art before.  It’s one of the easiest, trendiest, and most graphically modern crafts circulating the blogosphere and I’ve NEVER made it before.

So I saw some cute hurricanes at HomeGoods with haunted houses on them and I thought how easy it would be to recreate that.  And then the subway art just seemed like the perfect accompaniment.

This was an easy project.  Or should I admit that it would have been a very easy project had I known about a little thing called transfer paper.  I’m such an idiot, I know.  Always use transfer paper when doing word vinyl!!  I downloaded the haunted house and bat images from the Silhouette store and then designed the subway art myself.  I cut everything on my Silhouette.  Seriously, it’s a great crafting tool and if you don’t have one, Christmas is coming up!

I just had these square/rectangle vases back from my days of doing wedding flowers.  And I had these ivory candles from my first year of marriage which have obviously melted and warped in the Arizona weather.  But kinda cool, right?

And THAT is the last Halloween craft I did.  And will do for this year.  Not including costumes and food and all that.  My living room is bursting at it’s spooky seams and I’m already missing my simple coastal decor.  I always breathe a sigh of relief once Christmas is over and my living room can just be undecorated for awhile.

Not that I don’t love Christmas.

Cuz’ I do.

But…ya know?

  1. Those candles are fantastic! Good job getting your subway art all horizontal. It’s great:)

  2. I just can’t get over how awesome it is that you FULLY decorated your home for Halloween!

  3. very cute Heidi! My candles and crayons melted in our desert heat too. At least they make good Halloween decor:)

  4. The images on this are missing and it totally locked up my iPad. I have no idea how to get rid of the page for the Halloween-subway-art_3-copy,jpg that has locked it up, can’t select that tab or iPad browser stops.
