Sharing is caring!

hi! my name is linda and i’m a craft addict. i’m the gal behind Craftaholics Anonymous, a site brimming with crafts, home decor, DIY, tutorials, and holiday decorating! my crafting philosophy is: Crafting doesn’t have to be expensive, just CREATIVE!

today i’m going to share with you an easy paper project that is great for kids! {plus, its not super breakable….which is handy when you have kiddos that like to play with your decorations, like my 2 little cuties do!

How to Make an Easy Paper Christmas Tree

1. take 1 sheet of 12×12 card stock and wrap around to form a cone shape. secure in place with hot glue or glue dots.

2. trim the bottom of the cone so that it is straight across. {easier said than done!}

3. adjust bottom as needed so that tree stands straight {or at least appears to be straight-ish. doesn’t have to be perfect.}

4. cut 1.5 sheets of 12×12 scrapbook paper into .75″ x 2.5″ strips. {double sided paper is ideal, not necessary.} using your fingers or a pen, curl your little paper strips. tip: i noticed that the lighter weight paper curled better and didn’t have little creases where it curled. but both work just fine.

5. using paper glue, apply the curled paper strips around the cone in lines starting at the bottom and work your way to the top. overlap the rows to cover the cone the best you can.

6. take a strip, wrap it around the top and glue in place. embellish with beads, buttons, glitter, tinsel, etc.

well i hope you enjoyed this easy craft! if you ever have a crafting question, feel free to post it on my Craftaholics Anonymous Facebook page. we get great crafty discussions and threads going!

happy {holiday} crafting!
linda
