Weigh-In Wednesday #2

Oof–I had a bad week when it comes down to eating.  Here’s the thing…the second I find out I’m pregnant, all my resolves to diet and exercise go VAMOOSH!  I do not know what it is, maybe it’s just a basic survival instinct.  Basically I lose all self control and eat whatever the heck I want.   To be fair, I try to exercise but I’m usually just too tired to do it.

So once I have the baby, it takes a long time for me to re-train my brain and body to a healthy lifestyle.  And the more kids you have, the harder it is to exercise.  So that’s my excuse.

Speaking of exercise, I think my body has atrophied.  Literally.  I did this super weak-sauce workout on Monday and I’m so sore from it today.  And not the good kind of sore where you are encouraged.  It’s the kind of sore where your body is so tired it hurts.

So my weight this week?  154.

Um…yay?  I have to come clean (cuz that’s what I’m doing these days, remember?) and admit that my weight has fluctuated from 153 to 158 this whole week.  So I could have said I weight 153 last week, but I’d have to actually work really hard to get lower than that.

I bought Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred on Amazon.  It should be here tomorrow and then I will get my butt kicked.  I will probably make it 5 minutes before collapsing on the floor clutching my heart.  Should be fun!

  1. That picture is too funny! I love the 30 day shred. It’s a crazy good workout in only 20 minutes (that’s my favorite part)! I’ll be excited to hear what you think about it. I started making green smoothies in the morning & have SO MUCH more energy.

  2. i have four babies so i know how you feel… i did the same through all my pregnancies and i know we just had our last baby (7 months ago!) but im determined to not be stuck in this rut anymore …. i love reading your progress and bumps in the road it really is encouraging to know your not alone in all this!!!!!! thank you for being so honest it really helps 🙂 goodluck !!!!!

  3. How funny, I JUST got home from buying that video! My excuse to not start it right now is that I’m trying to recover from the most insane cold. Maybe I’ll just sit on the couch and watch it. You know, so I can see what I’m getting myself into 😀

Why did you delete your post on sleep? If you choose to put your life on the internet than you should expect some criticism sometimes. You can’t hide from people who don’t agree with what you say and just want to have the posts where everyone thinks you are so wonderful. Something to think about…

I modified the post, it is not deleted. I needed to clarify some things within the text not just in the comments. I know not everyone will agree with me and I’m perfectly okay with it. However I do not appreciate harsh mean comments from trolls (who does?) and it’s my blog. I encourage people to think for themselves as I do. I am not ashamed of my post or what I wrote or did.

  4. I think it’s time for me to look into the 30 day shred. I’ve heard a lot of positive review about it and I to am trying to shed some holiday weight. Good luck, if your anything like me, working out is the hardest thing to get myself to do. uuuugggggghhhhhh!

Yep, it’s hard! Mostly because of how tired I am these days…

  5. I know what you mean about atrophy! I can barely get up out of a chair without straining. My muscles are like gummy worms! I have a 12 week old and I am really starting to feel down in the dumps about my weight. I gained 52lbs and lost 26 in the first 2 weeks, but I haven’t lost an ounce since. I haven’t tried, either. I need to get on it! I’m excited to see if the shred works for you.

Ya I’m excited to lose weight but not excited for the soreness!

  6. Ha ha. I am 8 months out and need to lose 1 pound a week for a whole year to get back to me. Can someone please tell my two big boys and two babies…they seem to be all consuming. But totally worth it. I had to MAJOR count calories and exercise to even begin the weight loss journey. Good luck! I’m right there with you. I just wish I only had your 20ish to lose 🙂

Yep, Kellie I am quickly learning that weight loss is kind of a self centered pursuit and when you are a mother you don’t really have much time for that! But I will still try, if only to exercise here and there. Good luck!!!

  7. Jillian is how I started to get into shape too! She is hardcore but totally worth it! Stay with it and it gets easier I promise. You will be so sore though…so good luck!
