Scribble Shop Challenge: Party Animal Train!

Sharing is caring!

You might have seen a bit about the Scribble Shop Challenge…several bloggers got a box full of craft supplies with the direction of using it in a craft project.  I had a few ideas in mind, but one day my kids were extra board so I broke out the supplies and we all got painting!

And my little boys LOVE trains, so naturally that is what we made.

When I first opened the box, this is what I saw…

This is pretty self explanatory, but we first started with some largish boxes (diaper boxes and the like.)

Then I glued them together and we painted them blue and green. For the wheels I painted some paper plates with the chalkboard paint, using the brads as the centers. Then I decorated the crap out of the train using the feathers, glitter, fabric, and roving.

The roving is my train’s ‘steam.’ Roving is a weird thing, I gotta say. I’m not sure what I would use it for.

I think it turned out cute and my kids love playing with it! I totally went overboard with the glitter but I haven’t actually used real glitter since like 3rd grade. By the end I looked like a 14 year old girl wearing body glitter.

Have you heard of the Scribble Shop? It’s an awesome online resource for tons of craft supplies! Be sure to check them out, follow them on Facebook, or Twitter, or Google+!
