Weigh-in Wed: THIS time! THIS time! NO THIS time!

Sharing is caring!

Another brutally honest Weight Loss post.  Hooray.

Do you want to know why I haven’t posted my weight loss stats in like a month and a half?  BECAUSE I HAVE NOT LOST ANY WEIGHT.

Here’s the prob:  every week I think ‘This is it!  This week I will do Weight Watchers and exercise!’  But then SOMETHING always gets in the way.  For a long time it was my husband’s board exam that he was studying for–it was SUCH a stressful time.  Then after that was done I got The Cold That Would Not Die.  First a sinus infection, then a horrible horrible cough, then a painful sore throat.  I’m at the tail end of the cough and sore throat now.  And just as I’m getting better, all three of my kids get sick.  I mean REALLY?!!!

But no more excuses for me!  I think that in order for me to truly lose weight, I will have to just do it despite the situation.  Obviously if I’m dying in bed then that’s probably a legit excuse.  But now, despite the stress and the colds, I WILL do it.  All it takes is self control.

I keep posting every week even when I don’t have much to say because I don’t want this goal to just fade away.  Sometimes you can look at your fatness in the mirror and think, ‘Meh, I look okay!’ But then I saw a picture that my husband took of me and I was like, WOAH.   Get on that treadmill.

So hopefully I will be able to post some actual results in a few weeks.

  1. i feel your pain

    two years ago i lost
    nearly 50 lbs
    but
    in the past winter
15 of them have crept back

    with the warmer weather now
    and longer evenings
i decided to start again yesterday
and had a wonderful first day
    including a good evening walk

    my sister
who lost 50 lbs. two years ago
    with WW
is now back on it to lose
those 20 lbs that have returned

it is a never ending battle!

    my routine
is to drink 6-8 glasses of water per day
and to keep a food diary
    tracking my calories
which i try to keep to 1200

so here’s to sticking to it
and getting into those summer shorts
    in just a few months

i know we can do this!

thanks for the very real post

I love how you wrote that like a poem. You can do it!

  2. What worked for me was finding a workout I actually enjoyed and looked forward to. I love spin, bodypump, and turbo kick at the gym so I always look forward to going! Try out different classes until you find something you enjoy 🙂

I actually know what I like to do, it’s just finding energy and time to do it! And not being sick.

  3. aw don’t feel badly. no on exercises when they can’t breathe!

  4. Stress is my killer. I don’t want to do anything but eat something that makes my mouth/body temporarily feel better. It’s bad news, indeed. My goal of fitting into my clothes again by March 15 is soon to be passed by……with about 18 lbs still to go…..

Ya, winter and sickness and husbands in school and all that…lots of stress. But I guess the key is just power through…

  5. I’ve been psyching myself out a lot lately about the weight loss. I gained A TON after I had my fourth baby and it just likes to stick around. This week I decided that enough is enough. My husband’s been using the LoseIt app on his iPod and I have a Nook Color that the app was FINALLY available for, so I loaded it up and started using it this week. I swear when you have to write down every little thing you eat, you pay more attention to it. So despite my calorie budget only being about 1750 calories, between cleaning the house for an hour (which being sick inspires you to do when the illness has hung on for 3 months!) and paying attention to what I ate, I still came in 100 calories under budget! It makes SUCH a huge difference! I weighed myself today and I’m down 2 1/2 lbs! For someone who has a SUPER hard time losing weight that’s awesome! If I can do it, I promise you can too!

Good job Shandra–keep it up! You are an inspiration to me!

  6. I need motivation to loose weight, it is just such a huge thing to tackle. So difficult. And there are so many food temptations! I seriously believe I have developed some addiction to food- during my pregnancy with my son I gained over 70lbs, 70! I was 125lbs when my husband and I got married 5 years ago and now I am 185. I want to look in the mirror and like what I see. Man, it’s tough.

  7. Oh how I completely understand your pain, it’s harder together started than it is to make it through the workout! We did the biggest loser at work and I couldn’t get motivated three pounds here, five there, made it to 12…then came valentines day, and I gained 7 pounds in one week!!! I. Broke down, I was angry and defeated, I signed up for weight watchers a little over a week ago and have been doing Zumba at home, I lost seven pounds this week! And I’m able to make it through my workouts without cursing at my tv! Soo this is progress I am proud of me and feel like I can do this!

Good luck to you and thank you for being brave enough to post your progress!
