Our Downton Abbey Tea Party

Sharing is caring!

We had ourselves a little tea party last week.  And it was so much fun!  We were inspired by World Market’s new line of Downton Abbey tea party stuff which is so cute, and since World Market threw a virtual tea party last Sunday, we decided it would be fun to do our own!

My sister-in-law and I put this together.  She is kind of an herbal tea aficionado, since we don’t drink ‘real’ tea in our religion. But we do enjoy peppermint and hibiscus tea, which is what she made.  It’s so soothing.  We invited our daughters to our tea party and had a little mother-daughter celebration.

I went to World Market and purchased a few of the Downton Abbey items–this beautiful teapot, the organic scone mix, and these delectable jellies and jams (Blackcurrant jam and Lemon curd.)  We decided to use my sister-in-law’s teacups, since they are just so adorable and tiny.  She made the tea and I made the scones.  The scone mix was easy to make and turned out delicious!  I’ve never had scones that weren’t fried before so having them baked was a nice alternative.

We sat down to our little tea party, which she hosted since my house is a moving-zone disaster right now.  We drank the tea and ate our scones with the jam and lemon curd.  This was the first time I’d had lemon curd and it was so awesome!!  It tastes like a lemon filled donut.  I even got some more scone mix so I can eat the lemon curd again.  It’s mouth-watering good.  The tea was great as well and I might start drinking it more before bed.  It is seriously so calming.  If you drink black tea, World Market also offers Downton Abbey exclusive black tea.

Each guest got a Downton Abbey tote bag and this beautiful mug, which they gave away during Black Friday weekend.  It was the perfect ending to the party…

…and we each took a picture of us ‘doing the Downton’ which we posted on Instagram to participate in the virtual tea party.  Pinkies up!

LOVE Downtown Abbey and would love to be the recipient of this fabulous tea collection! I would invite my best friend who is also my neighbor, my sister in law who is her neighbor and my neighbor’s mom who lives next to my sister in law to come to my house and have a tea party with me!! It has been so very long since I have sat down with these fabulous and inspirational ladies and it would be amazing to catch up with them while sipping tea and eating scones with LEMON CURD (YUMMMMMMMMMMM)! Thanks for the chance to invite these ladies for a REAL tea party!
