So…I have to admit to purchasing a duvet cover. I LOVE to sew (who can forget that) but when it came to a duvet cover, I couldn’t find a fabric that I really loved, and all that yardage gets pretty pricey. Plus I couldn’t be bothered, I don’t think that sewing a duvet cover would actually be that fun…I could just see a visual image of me drowning in yards of fabric, not knowing which side is up. So after months of looking around to find something colorful and high quality, this is the baby I ordered:Note: This is not my bedroom. Would that it could be, but no.

It’s called the Deirdre Organic Duvet Cover by Pottery Barn. And it was on sale! (Which got cancelled out by the exorbitant amount they charged for shipping.) This may be a bit flowery for some of you, even for me, but I absolutely love the vibrant colors in it. My room has been black and white for four years and I’m tired out of it. I am planning on choosing that robin’s egg blue for the accent. I need to get some Euro shams, maybe regular shams, throw pillows, and throw blankets to really pull it all together (READ: year-long project.) I have also decided to paint my beloved wooden vanity the blue color as well! It sits right across from the bed with a pretty little mirror on it. I rescued the dresser from my parent’s house when I got married and added a little black trim to the edges and spray painted the pulls black, to match the black frame on the mirror and the rest of our black furniture. Well after a few moves and a lot of abuse, it’s looking kinda sad, so it’s time for a change. This is Spring Break project #1 for me (and my husband since I don’t anticipate painting a dresser while I’m 8 months pregnant to be super fun.)

Still…I am super excited!
