I think the best way to get new-to-you home decor AND furniture is to buy or inherit old stuff and refinish or repurpose it. My entire house is chalk-full of refinished furniture and I have to say, when people come to my house they are always blown away by the amount of refinished furniture that is in my house. Seriously, almost everything. That’s the life of a DIY blogger though.
My sister-in-law was telling me the other day how proud she was of herself for painting and refinishing a small dresser. I was super proud of her too because I know how busy she is (um 8 kids anyone?) But I’m so happy that she took the time to do that. It only takes ONE time of doing a project to help you overcome fears of painting or refinishing. And look what can be done!
I curated a board on Hometalk of 20 beautiful refinished bar stools. A few of them are my own projects, yes. But there are some AMAZING ones on here. I’m loving Hometalk the more I use it, especially in planning my house. Please go sign up and follow me on there! It’s the perfect social network for Home and Garden enthusiasts!

Are you on Hometalk too? Leave a comment of your profile and I will go follow you there too! I would love to build a better Honeybear Lane community.
