Hosting Friendsgiving

Sharing is caring!

This post was sponsored by Cascade, however all opinions are my own.

Have you ever had a Friendsgiving?  I haven’t, well technically.  I guess I’ve celebrated Thanksgiving early with friends, but this was a little different.  Cascade reached out and asked if I wanted to host a “Friendsgiving” potluck with a few of my friends.  This was a super fun party where we decided on a menu (that didn’t include turkey or stuffing) and brought ingredients.  We decided to do a Cafe Rio style salad meal.  If you don’t know what Cafe Rio is, you’re missing out!  They’ve got this super yummy Barbacoa sweet pork and they mix it in with lettuce, pico, guacamole, beans, and cilantro rice.  And of course the cilantro ranch!

We all brought our assigned ingredients and I cooked the pork in a slow cooker.  I set the table with my cute Christmas dinner plates and a little farmhouse charm.  Then we ate and ate and ate!  And laughed until I literally spit my water out.

After the meal, we ate some yummy cake and sang happy birthday to my dear friend Haley.  We got her this yummy chocolate cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes.

When we were done eating, we moved into the living room for gifts!  Cascade provided all of us with some fun gifts including a Williams Sonoma gift card and some beautiful glasses and of course, a sample of Cascade dishwashing tabs.  It was so fun to open the gifts and my friends are such hams sometimes.

Such a fun night–I highly recommend everyone host a Friendsgiving sometime!

By the way, these tabs are my favorite.

I love that you can just grab one and put it in the little slot–no mess.  And I love how clean it gets the dishes.  I am always so tempted to pre-wash the food off, but actually the dishwasher works better when you skip that.  Plus it saves time and energy!  And also Cascade Platinum ActionsPacs actually have three times more power than regular detergent so your dishes are like super ultra clean plus no hard water build-up because it has rinse aid.  So when it our party was over and I loaded all the dishes into the dishwasher, I woke up to a dishwasher full of sparkly clean dishes.  It was so nice…I think you don’t appreciate dishwashers until you don’t have one, which we didn’t for several years when we were first married.  Now I can’t wait to wash these pretty glasses with Cascade!

  3. As we talked about the first concerts we went to and how we’re both writers, I definitely found myself thinking, “Please ask me out, or at least try to kiss me tonight.” At the end of the evening, when he didn’t ask for my number, chasing-her-green-zebra Dater X would have felt a bit disappointed.
