Candy Cane Sugar Scrub

Sharing is caring!

Sugar scrubs are my favorite way to exfoliate my skin.  It’s so simple, you just scoop up a little in your fingers and rub it on your body to leave your skin soft and smooth.  But did you know they are SO stupid easy to make?  Especially if you already have essential oils.  {Don’t have oils?  Read this post for more info.}  I was super excited to use peppermint to make this candy cane sugar scrub!

This Candy Cane sugar scrub smells so yummy, like eating a peppermint candy cane.  All you need is a half-pint jar, white sugar, coconut oil, and peppermint oil.  And it doesn’t hurt to have some crushed candy cane in there too, just to make it look fun.

We made this at our last essential oils make and take party and it was a huge hit!  Everyone had a blast making it because it’s really easy and the end product is fabulous.

Here’s the recipe:

  • 1 Cup White Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup organic coconut oil
  • 8-10 drops of peppermint oil
  • A few drops of red food coloring (optional)
  • Crushed candy cane (optional)
  • Put it all in a half pint jar

Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl and stir until it’s all blended up.  Add a little more coconut oil if you feel like it’s too dry.  I added the crushed candy cane at the very end.  Then I put it all in a half-pint jar and topped it with baker’s twine and a candy cane.  And of course a super cute label which you can download here!  My favorite jar for sugar scrubs actually isn’t the one in the pictures…I found it later on.  It’s a half pint jar but it’s much wider mouthed and squatty so it’s really easy to get stuff out of it.

This also makes a really cute gift for family, friends, teachers, neighbors…whoever really!  The shelf life is only 1 month since there are no preservatives in it, so use it while it’s good!  Store it in a dark cool place to make it last as long as possible.
