Toddler Style: Jelly Shoes

cute toddler jelly shoes

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Jelly Beans but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #JellysAreBack http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO As the ninth child of eleven, I didn't get a whole lot of new things for myself.  Actually no one in my family did.  My mother was (still is) extremely frugal and efficient with money, which you would have to be to have eleven kids!  Needless to say, when the … [Read more...]

Framed Burlap Monogram

framed burlap monogram

I'm in the very slow process of decorating my daughter's room.  It's the nursery, I guess.  But she's over a year old...is it still a nursery?  Anyway, I found these cute large wood letters at a local craft store and decided to do something with it--hence this Framed Burlap Monogram.  The letter itself isn't burlap, in case you can't see that from the picture, its the matting.  Or whatever.  Anyway, I really love this whole look. Hello! I'm Rebecca from Searching Out Simple and I'm so glad to be here again today! Fall is slowly creeping in the air around here and I found it to be an inspiration for some headbands for a sweet babe. I love the colors and textures associated with fall. It's fun to have a lot of options at you fingertips when working on a project like this. Most things that I make have a pattern or specific requirements and I want them to be finished with a … [Read more...]

She would have been 34 today.

alice's dried flowers

Today I can't deny that my heart hurts.  Actually my heart hurts every single day still, but it's weighing heavier today. Alice would have been 34 today. These are the flowers from her funeral that we saved and dried. I still can't believe she's gone.  And I find that with each passing day I don't feel the pain lessen and I don't come closer to accepting it.  It is almost the opposite.  I feel angry that this had to happen, that we all … [Read more...]

Back in May, I was trying really hard to make something I didn't have a pattern for.  And it was a big fat flop.  So I had all these sewn 'pieces' that I didn't really want to throw away, so I decided to refashion them into a little baby shirt for Miss E.  It turned out awesome!  I loved the shirt.  Well today I decided to make another one with a tutorial so I could share it with you all how to make one. Seriously...isn't she the cutest baby … [Read more...]

The countdown is on:  moving in three weeks!  To a bigger place where my baby girl can have her very own room.  And I can finally put up all the decorations I've made for her!  Here's one more... Simple and cute.  My kids love anything ABC related (which inspired this alphabet onesie.)  Guess what I made this little decoration from?  What's that you say?  You couldn't tell it was an "As Is" IKEA cupboard door that cost me $5?  I've had this … [Read more...]
