Toddler Style: Jelly Shoes

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Jelly Beans but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #JellysAreBack As the ninth child of eleven, I didn't get a whole lot of new things for myself.  Actually no one in my family did.  My mother was (still is) extremely frugal and efficient with money, which you would have to be to have eleven kids!  Needless to say, when the … [Read more...]

Framed Burlap Monogram

I'm in the very slow process of decorating my daughter's room.  It's the nursery, I guess.  But she's over a year it still a nursery?  Anyway, I found these cute large wood letters at a local craft store and decided to do something with it--hence this Framed Burlap Monogram.  The letter itself isn't burlap, in case you can't see that from the picture, its the matting.  Or whatever.  Anyway, I really love this whole look. She would have been 34 today.

Today I can't deny that my heart hurts.  Actually my heart hurts every single day still, but it's weighing heavier today. Alice would have been 34 today. These are the flowers from her funeral that we saved and dried. I still can't believe she's gone.  And I find that with each passing day I don't feel the pain lessen and I don't come closer to accepting it.  It is almost the opposite.  I feel angry that this had to happen, that we all … [Read more...]

sewing for babies: apron halter top

Seriously...isn't she the cutest baby … [Read more...]

The countdown is on:  moving in three weeks!  To a bigger place where my baby girl can have her very own room.  And I can finally put up all the decorations I've made for her!  Here's one more... Simple and cute.  My kids love anything ABC related (which inspired this alphabet onesie.)  Guess what I made this little decoration from?  What's that you say?  You couldn't tell it was an "As Is" IKEA cupboard door that cost me $5?  I've had this … [Read more...]
