25 Fabulous & Easy DIY Ornaments

We got a new tree this year. I should clarify for all of you who purchase real trees and get new trees every year--we got a new artificial tree this year. My husband is allergic to the real ones, plus I admit I like the convenience of the pre-lit trees and how easy they are to set up. Our new tree, though, is 12 feet tall--a far cry above our old 7 footer. That means a LOT more ornaments! I will post about my full experience in decorating … [Read more...]

20 Of The Best Holiday Wreaths

Even I weren't a blogger, I'd still be early with the holiday decor. Why? Well for one, I love the Christmas season. And I've never been huge on Thanksgiving decorations, although I keep some of my 'fallish' ones up until after. And for two, Christmas decorating is a big job and I don't want to have to cram all that work into one day. I start at the beginning of November and just slowly work on it all month. Then by the time Thanksgiving is over, … [Read more...]

Easy Thanksgiving Centerpiece

Last December, I helped plan and execute my sister's wedding.  It was so cute, very rustic and wintery but whimsical.  I built 22 wooden boxes for the centerpieces and every since I've been trying to give them away.  Well last week, they came in very handy when we had an unexpected funeral to help with and I was asked to take care of the centerpieces for the luncheon.  And now I'm so glad I didn't give them all away!  This centerpiece idea is my … [Read more...]

Our Fall Craft Party and a Recipe

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Hershey Company for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine. It's no secret that I love Halloween parties.  I love everything about the fall, actually.  This year, instead of throwing a Halloween party like I usually do (well, it might still happen) I decided to kick things off early with a fun Fall Craft Party.  I live in a new neighborhood and everyone is very gung-ho to mean new friends and … [Read more...]

Aztec Inspired Jewelry Organizer

I have had all my necklaces in a drawer for years, but this year I realized how many statement necklaces I had that were getting all tangled and messed up by living in this drawer.  Even my husband scoffed at my disorganization.  That's when you know you have a problem!  I had to make a jewelry organizer. DIY jewelry organizers are not hard to create, so I went about whipping one up.  I first found an old frame I had lying around, which … [Read more...]

Decoupage Mini Chest of Drawers

This post originally appeared on Tatertots and Jello on July 13, 2015. My friend Jen from Tatertots and Jello has just released the most adorable craft supplies line.  The colors are perfect and on trend, the themes and patterns are just adorable...everything is amazing. Americana DIY Abstract Art

I recently became interested in abstract art.  Like the DIY kind.  I'm not a 'real artist' so as to not offend 'real artists' but anyone can create a basic piece of abstract art and get their creative juices flowing.  It's actually very relaxing to create a sea scape or other kinds of simple abstract art and these particular pieces I made are SO, so easy to do.  So get the supplies and go make your own DIY abstract art! Supplies: Gold … [Read more...]
