How to Decorate as a Couple Without Fighting

If your spouse is super opinionated:  This can be really hard because decisions never get made.  You spend hours and hours shopping for items only to have your spouse shoot it down.  Or sometimes you go behind their back and buy it anyway and then spend the rest of the time trying to convince them it was a good idea.  Bad karma.  I would say sometimes it’s okay if it’s something small but with big ticket items it should be a mutual decision.

Help them make a decision between several options.  Shop around and take pictures of several options you would be happy with.  Show them to your spouse and see if they can come around to any of the options.  It’s much easier to choose from a couple options than from the whole world of possibilities.  If they reject all of them, plan a date night to go out and look together.  It might take some time, but be patient.  Some people need to feel and touch something before making a decision.
